Whirlpool spins wind plan
Appliance manufacturer to install four 1.5MW Goldwind turbines
Whirlpool is to build a total of four Goldwind 1.5MW turbines at manufacturing facilities in the US.
The appliance manufacturing giant has committed to a $13.5m investment in a bid to reduce its energy consumption.
Three turbines will be built at its Marion facility and another machine will be installed at its Ottawa plant, both in Ohio.
The projects are being financed by One Energy, Whirlpool said.
"Whirlpool Corporation is proud to be a global leader in sustainable on-site energy generation for manufacturing, and this project is the latest to demonstrate our commitment to sustainable and renewable solutions," said the company's global sustainability director Ron Voglewede.
