Sun shines on Mexican solar
JinkoSolar and Solarcentury to develop two projects totalling 170MW
JinkoSolar and Solarcentury are partnering to develop two solar projects totalling 170MW AC in Mexico.
The projects are the 100MW Viborillas solar farm in Jalisco state and the 70MW Cuncunul facility in Yucatan.
The partners won the rights to develop the projects in the first auction in the country’s new energy market.
The auction involved 227 offers and 69 bidders, with 17 projects awarded.
The energy division of JinkoSolar will act as the investor and owner of the two projects, while Solarcentury will develop both sites.
Solarcentury also plans to participate in the second energy auction in September.
