The Small Wind Co-op, a crowd-funded community scheme developed by Sharenergy, is starting construction of two Norvento wind turbines at a farm in Scotland having surpassed its minimum fundraising target.

The Small Wind Co-op will install two nED100 100kW machines at Kellybank farm in Inverclyde.

The project, when completed, will be the first community-funded wind project Norvento has supplied.

The Small Wind Co-op raised over £1m, surpassing its initial target of £700,000.

Investors can become members of the group for a minimum investment of £100 and earn returns of up to 6.5%, as well as have a say in how it is run.

The Small Wind Co-op plans a second project on a farm in Wales.
