EDF EN double dip in Mexico
342MW of wind and solar projects win support in renewables auction
EDF EN Mexico has won support for 342MW of wind and solar projects in the country’s second clean energy auction.
The developer said it will now build the 252MW Gunaa Sicarú wind farm in Oaxaca featuring turbines supplied by Gamesa.
It has also secured support the 90MW Bluemex Power solar facility in Sonora.
“We are pleased to take this important step in our expansion plan for the Mexican renewable energy market and to be an active player in the framework of Mexico’s energy reform,” said EDF country manager Gerardo Pérez Guerra.
“The diligent work of the EDF EN North American team has allowed the EDF Energies Nouvelles Group to achieve continued success in this increasingly competitive market.”
