Utility officials from Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island have chosen renewables projects totalling 460MW through the three-state clean energy request for proposals process.

The successful bidders will now enter into contract negotiations, the terms and process of which will vary by state.

The states noted that the final acceptance of bids and award of contracts is conditional upon successful negotiations and regulatory approvals.

“As such, not all projects selected to advance to contract negotiation at this stage will necessarily obtain approved contracts,” they said.

Contracts are expected to be submitted for regulatory approval by 1 March 2017.

The successful bids came from Antrim Wind, Ranger Solar, Cassadaga Wind, RES Americas, Deepwater Wind and Ameresco.

The projects cover wind and solar and include a proposal by offshore wind outfit Deepwater Wind for the 26.4MW Simsbury scheme in Connecticut.
