Danish engineers form subsea pact
MacArtney Underwater Technology acquires a majority holding in ASME
Danish offshore engineering specialist MacArtney Underwater Technology has acquired a majority holding in local rival ASME.
ASME, which has 125 employees, specializes in launch and recovery systems, electronic control systems and heave compensations techniques, which reduce the influence of waves on offshore operations, among other functions.
The company's founder, Arne Schmidt, will resign by the end of 2016.
"This strategic acquisition will enable MacArtney to expand its offerings in existing segments as well as new segments through its worldwide operations," MacArtney said.
