Scotland approves new 39MW design at CfD-winning Tom nan Clach
Scottish government officials have approved revised plans for Infinergy’s 39MW Tom nan Clach wind farm south of Inverness in the Highlands.
The Planning and Environmental Appeals Division issued consent on appeal for 13 turbines of up to 125 metres.
Highland councillors had previously rejected the plans based largely on visual impacts from the larger swept area and taller tips.
Infinergy had already secured consent for 17 less powerful machines.
Tom nan Clach is being built under the Contracts for Difference regime and preliminary construction started earlier this year.
Full power from the wind farm is due in October 2018. The project originally entered the planning system in 2009.
