Greenbacker packs 25MW in US
Greenfield project acquired from Foundation Windpower for $34.5m
Greenbacker Renewable Energy has acquired the operational 25MW Greenfield wind farm in Montana from Foundation Windpower for $34.5m.
The project, which is located in Teton County, consists of 13 GE 2.3MW 107 turbines.
Electricity generated by Greenfield is sold to local public utility Northwestern Energy.
Greenbacker chief executive Charles Wheeler said: “As we continue to grow our portfolio of alternative energy assets, wind assets such as this project provide a diversified revenue stream to our more summer weighted solar generation income, helping to smooth our cash flows and providing more predictable returns for our investors.”
