Canadian Solar has started commercial operations at the 24MW Yamaguchi solar plant in Japan.
The project is utilises 92,064 of the company’s CS6P-260P/CS6P-255P modules, and is the largest Canadian Solar has developed in the country.
Electricity generated by the project will be purchased by Chugoku Electric Power Company under a 20-year feed-in-tariff contract at the rate of $0.38 per kWh.
Canadian Solar chairman and chief executive Shawn Qu said: “With 167MW of projects under construction and 66MW of projects ready to build, we are well on track to deliver more solar projects in Japan.”
