Lagerwey to supply Dutch giants
Two L136 4.5MW machines destined for project in Eemshaven
Manufacturer Lagerwey is to supply two turbines totalling 9MW to Growind to repower a wind farm at the port of Eemshaven in the Netherlands.
The L136 4.5MW machines will replace two turbines that have already been dismantled at the port.
They will have hub heights of 132 metres, rotor diameters of 136 metres and will be the tallest onshore turbines in the Netherlands, Lagerwey said.
It added that foundation work will start this month, with construction of the turbines slated to start in March.
The first unit will be complete by April, with the second machine to be constructed at the end of the year, Lagerwey said.
The company said the hardware can handle wind speeds of up to 8.5 metres per second.
