Senvion scores Welsh wind deal
Innogy UK orders 16 turbines totalling 32.8MW for Mynydd y Gwair
Innogy UK Renewables has signed on German fabricator Senvion to supply 16 wind turbines for its Mynydd y Gwair wind farm near Swansea in south Wales.
The Contract for Difference-backed project will feature MM92 turbines each rated at 2.05MW.
Turbine components for 32.8MW project will start to be delivered to site in April 2018 and installation and commissioning is due to be completed in October 2018.
The project was awarded a £79.99 per megawatt-hour 15-year CfD in February 2015.
Senvion has also agreed a five-year maintenance contracts with Innogy Renewables UK for Mynydd y Gwair and two other sites: the under-construction 57.4MW Brechfa Forest West in Carmarthenshire and Bad a Cheo in Scotland.
All three projects have options to extend the maintenance contracts up to 10 and then 15 years.
This is the eleventh turbine contract to be signed between Senvion and Innogy UK Renewables.
