Aarsleff has won a contract from Siemens to install four gravity base jackets at the 28MW Nissum Bredning offshore wind demo project in Denmark.
The Danish contractor will also manufacture the concrete transition pieces and provide dredging works, seabed preparation and scour protection, it said.
The deal was first reported in the latest issue of subscriber-only newsletter reNEWS.
Offshore works will start around June and the foundations are scheduled to be completed by the end of the third quarter of the year.
Nissum Bredning will feature 7MW Siemens turbines, gravity base jacket foundations, a 66kV tranmission system and lightweight turbine towers.
The site is challenging due to shallow waters and extensive layers of soft soils that prevent the use of jack-up vessels, according to Aarsleff.
The company has therefore needed to develop alternative installation methods.
