EDP's 250MW Los Mirasoles wind farm in Texas to power 100 stores
Improvement specialist The Home Depot is to a purchase a fifth of the power produced at EDP Renewables’ 250MW Los Mirasoles wind farm in Texas.
The company secured enough electricity to power 100 of its stores via the 20-year PPA as part of overall plans to procure 135MW of renewables by the end of 2020.
Los Mirasoles features 125 Vestas V110 2MW turbines and is located in Hidalgo and Starr Counties. It went live last year.
Home Depot already procures power from solar farms in Delaware and Massachusetts witha combined annual output of 14.5 million kilowatt-hours.
