8minutenergy Renewables is to develop the 115MW Springbok 3 solar farm in California, following the signing of a power purchase agreement (PPA) with the Southern California Public Power Authority (SCPPA).
On completion, the project will be the third installation in a cluster that includes the 137MW and 191MW Springbok 1 and 2 projects.
8minutenergy said it has also negotiated interconnection agreements for all three projects.
SCPPA agreed the deal with the developer on behalf the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP).
The first two Springbok projects created more than 600 direct and 800 indirect jobs during construction, and Springbok 3 is expected to generate an additional 250 direct and 300 indirect jobs, 8minutenergy said.
