Two 9.9MW projects to be connected to operating wind farms

Eon is to build two energy storage plants with a total volume of almost 20MW in Texas.
The Texas Waves energy storage projects will be connected to Eon’s existing wind farms in Pyron and Inadale in the west of the state.

The 9.9MW each plants should be up and running by the end of 2017, Eon said.
The batteries will balance out fluctuations across the grid and improve supply security for the Electric Reliability Council of Texas market.
Eon is collaborating on the projects with Greensmith Energy, which is also a partner in Eon’s Iron Horse grid-connected battery plant in Arizona.
