Taaleri to invest about $600m in projects over the next few years
Finnish company Taaleri plans to invest about $600m over the next few years to develop its first wind projects in North America.
Taaleri’s private equity funds are currently in talks over wind energy projects with more than 500MW of capacity, it said.
The company, which established an energy unit in September, aims to invest in wind and solar power plants across North America, Europe, India and Africa.
It has cooperation agreements with Wärtsilä and ABB.
“We believe that the projects will advance most quickly in Canada. For example, the wind power market in the province of Alberta is attractive.” chief executive Juhani Elomaa said.
“We already have the capital to invest, so we can move quickly when we identify suitable projects or project portfolios.”
