Danes put store in US
PolyTech opens new warehouse to cut turbine component delivery time
Danish technology company PolyTech has set up a storage unit in Denver, Colorado, to service the US wind turbine market.
The new 2000-square metre warehouse in Greeley will reduce delivery time for turbine components to a maximum of 72 hours after an order is placed from six to seven weeks currently, the company said.
The US market had been supplied with products transported by container ship from Europe and China, it added.
The new unit will be operational during the first quarter of 2017, PolyTech said.
PolyTech chief executive Mads Kirkegaard said: “We want to be close to customers and are convinced that this new unit in Colorado will create the basis for future growth.
“A natural progression of this advanced storage activity would be that we would establish production in the USA within a few years.”
