Global Wind Service to install 35 Siemens turbines in Australia
Danish installers Global Wind Service (GWS) have won a contract to install the 35 turbines for the 112MW Hornsdale 3 wind farm in southern Australia.
The company said it will start erecting the 3.2MW Siemens machines from 15 May in partnership with the German manufacturer.
GWS crews already installed the turbines of the second phase of the wind scheme, which is being developed by French outfit Neoen.
The 32 Siemens 3.2MW turbines were erected in just 13 weeks from 1 December 2016, it said.
“By being awarded phase 3 in the Hornsdale wind farm, GWS has once again demonstrated our willingness and ability to develop our competencies, providing the right teams and keeping pace with the needs of our customer in a rapidly evolving industry,” chief executive Lars Petersen said.
