Chinese turn to Chile wind
Pacific Hydro starts building 82MW Punta Sierra project
Pacific Hydro has started building the 82MW Punta Sierra wind farm in Chile.
The $150m project is located in the commune of Ovalle and, when complete, will supply electricity to the country’s main power grid.
It is the first wind farm to be built in Chile by Pacific Hydro, which is owned by China’s State Power Investment Corp.
Pacific Hydro has been active in the country since 2002 producing electricity from its hydro plants in the O'Higgins region of the country.
