Half the Siemens 6MW turbines up at 402MW German project
The 402MW Veja Mate wind farm in the German North Sea has reached a half-way mark for turbine installations two-and-a-half months ahead of schedule.
The developers said 34 of the project's 67 Siemens 6MW turbines are in place following the commencement of turbine installation on 10 January. Of those 34 turbines, 30 are fully commissioned and producing power.
The shareholders in the project are Highland Group Holdings, Siemens Financial Services and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners.
Construction started in April 2016 and the project is expected to be fully operational by the end of 2017. It will produce over 1,6 TWh of electricity a year.
