GeoSea, DEME ready for Rentel
Offshore preparatory work set to start at 309MW project this month
GeoSea and DEME are set to start offshore preparatory works this month at Otary’s 309MW Rentel offshore wind farm off the Belgium coast.
The work will involve putting down gravel at all 42 turbine locations.
Additional geotechnical and geophysical surveys are also set to commence shortly and take about two months.
The XL monopile foundations provided by SIF will start to go in by July with infield cable installation works set to kick shortly after.
Construction of Siemens’ optimised SWT 7.0-154 turbines will start in May 2018.
The machines will be delivered to Ostend, where they will be assembled, from early next year.
Nacelles will be shipped from Cuxhaven with the blades coming in from Hull. The towers will be brought over from Denmark and Spain.
The project is located 35km off the coast and is scheduled to be up and running in 2018.
