Enel kicks off Mexican solar
238MW Don José project is scheduled to come online next year
Enel Green Power México has started building the 238MW Don José solar photovoltaic plant in the north-central state of Guanajuato.
The $228m project is expected to come online next year.
It will be supported by a sales contract providing electricity for Mexico’s Federal Electricity Commission over 15 years and related clean certificates over 20 years period.
Enel head of renewable energies for Central America Paolo Romanacci said: “Don José is the final project to begin construction from the 1GW of capacity awarded to Enel in the country’s first long-term public tender following its energy reforms.”
