ASM Industries to invest €25m in new plant to expand offering
Portuguese turbine tower manufacturer ASM Industries is eyeing a major push into fabrication for the offshore wind industry, according to reports in the local media.
The company is planning to build a new €25m manufacturing facility in the port of Aveiro on the west coast, Portuguese media said.
ASM will establish a separate and autonomous company called ASM Offshore Structures, according to reports.
The company has been making onshore tower components mainly for export to major European markets for over a decade and is eyeing growth for this division further afield in the US and Asia, it is understood.
It is also upgrading an existing onshore wind production site at the nearby Server do Vouga.
