Enel breaks ground on Red Dirt
300MW project in Oklahoma will cost $420m to build
Enel has started building the 300MW Red Dirt wind farm in Oklahoma, estimated by the Italian developer to cost $420m to build.
Power from the project will be sold under two long-term agreements to US telecoms provider T-Mobile and the Grand River Dam Authority.
The project, located in Kingfisher and Logan counties, is expected to go live by the end of 2017.
Enel currently generates around 1.5GW of wind energy in Oklahoma, including its 300MW Chisholm View project (pictured).
