Rhenus wraps up Wikinger job
15 supply runs completed for German offshore wind farm
Rhenus Offshore Logistics has completed its contract to support Iberdrola’s 350MW Wikinger wind farm in the Baltic Sea.
The German outfit made 15 supply runs to the project’s offshore platform between September and March.
It delivered containers with water, diesel fuel, food, tools, spare parts and other materias.
Rhenus said it handled the continuous support for the project, including agency services and coordination in the port, making available the platform supply vessel and the bunker equipment.
The trip from Mukran Port on the island of Rügen to the Wikinger site, located about 35km from the coast, takes about four hours.
“The project was our first order of this kind in the Baltic Sea and it therefore signifies an expansion of our field of operations along the German coast too,” business development head Thore Schreiber said.
