Tacke takes Siemens Gamesa reins
New chief exec of merged business takes over from Ignacio Martin
Markus Tacke has been named as the new chief executive of the merged Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy.
The long-serving executive takes over from interim CEO Ignacio Martin, who had previously expressed his wish to step down once integration efforts were “successfully underway”.
Michael Hannibal will step back into his role as CEO of the offshore business, a role he held for three years prior to Tacke taking the position in the immediate wake of the merger.
SGRE chair Rosa Maria Garcia said: “Tacke’s broad experience in the wind industry, combined with his strong leadership and track record will ensure the company tackles the challenges of the future, continues to deliver value to our customers, and takes Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy to new heights.”
Tacke has been involved in the energy sector for 20 years and led Siemens Wind for four.
