BVG, Green Port flag offshore jobs
New report outlines the wide variety of roles available in the sector
Consultancy BVG Associates and Green Port Hull have launched a guide to the potential job opportunities available in offshore wind to people in Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire.
The guide – ‘Job Roles in Offshore Wind’ – aims to help professionals, careers advisors and school-leavers understand the wide variety of jobs in the sector.
It also provides practical tips on how to start a career in offshore wind.
The partners said they analysed almost 200 functions across the supply chain in preparing the guide and identified 36 with the highest priority to Hull and East Riding of Yorkshire.
Clare Davies of BVG Associates said: “Many of these job roles are not immediately obvious, but they will play a significant part in developing a robust and specialist UK supply chain.”
Green Port growth business support project manager Dawn Hall said: “The guide has already been a great help to career advisors in Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire.
“It’s helping people understand and make the most of all the offshore wind job opportunities in the region.”
