Fred Olsen hires consultancy to service Rothes and Paul’s Hill wind farms
Natural Power is to service turbines at Fred Olsen Renewables’ 50.6MW Rothes and 64.4MW Paul’s Hill wind farms south west of Elgin in the north of Scotland.
Rothes consists of 22 Siemens 2.3MW turbines and has been operating since May 2005, while Paul’s Hill comprises 28 of the same hardware and came online in May 2006.
Fred Olsen Renewables operations manager Anders Falkfjell said: “This move marks a another step forward in our transition to independent service provision for our fleet, and I have high expectations of Natural Power as a partner in delivering improved performance and reduced service cost for our wind farms.”
Natural Power director of operations and asset management Euan Fenelon said: “Natural Power provided advice and on-site support throughout the development and construction phases at Rothes and Paul’s Hill, and we are delighted to be able to support Fred Olsen Renewables into the operational phase through the provision of independent servicing – providing a dynamic and transparent service that looks to maximise availability.”
