TÜV SÜD has completed project certification for the 288MW Sandbank offshore wind farm in the German North Sea.

The last of the project's 72 turbines was installed in January by Siemens and MPI around three months ahead of schedule.

The German's certification specialist said its consultants had advised project developers Vattenfall and Stadtwerke Munchen over the past 30 months.

Certification was awarded in accordance with German national standards covering equipment supervision and inspection, transportation, installation and commissioning.
