Scotrenewables will in the coming days redeploy its 2MW floating tidal turbine at Orkney’s European Marine Energy Centre (EMEC) following repairs.

The SR2000 device will be towed from Hatston berth to EMEC via the Shapinsay Sound where it will installed to its moorings at the Falls of Warness tidal test site.

Towing operations and mooring connections will kick off between 18 and 21 June.

Orkney marine services outfit Green Marine will use its Green Isle multicat vessel supported by its Agricola rib for the installation.

The SR2000 was removed last month from the Fall of Warness site’s berth five for minor repairs plus maintenance checks and tweaks.
