Eon makes hay at Rampion
Two jack-ups at work installing 116 turbines over busy summer period
Eon has installed 34 of the 116 turbines at its 400MW Rampion offshore wind farm off the Sussex coast in the UK.
MPI jack-up vessels Discovery and Adventure are currently working to install the MHI Vestas 3.45MW machines.
Each vessel is loading out eight turbines and 24 blades per journey from the port of Esbjerg as part of an intense summer build campaign.
Subsea specialists Fugro are close to completing array cable installation, industry sources said.
Technicians are working to commission the recently installed substation, with workers housed at Swire Blue Ocean jack-up Pacific Osprey.
The vessel will remain on site for another two months when electrical work at the topside is set to be completed.
First power from the project is expected in late summer, the sources said.
