Wood Group’s clean energy business was lender’s technical advisor on the financing of the 203MW Borkum West 2.2 offshore wind farm in the German North Sea.

The scope of the work included a review of the main site studies, the design of the wind park, the energy yield assessment as well as the key contracts for the construction of the project.

Borkum West 2.2 will consist of 32 Senvion 6.2M152 turbines with a power upgrade of about 6.33MW.

The wind farm is scheduled to start commercial operations by the end of 2019.

Wood Group senior renewable energy consultant Paris Hernández said: “We’re looking forward to supporting the project through the construction phase, on its road to operation.”
