Bladt stitches jumbo jackets
Beatrice offshore turbine foundations 70 metres high, 900 tonnes

Bladt has successfully joined the first upper and lower structure of a jacket foundation for SSE’s 588MW Beatrice offshore wind farm in Scotland.
The Danish fabricator completed the job yesterday at its Lindo facility on Funen in a 2.5-hour operation.

Bladt is building 30 four-legged jackets for the wind farm with a height of 70 metres and weighing 900 tonnes.
The foundations (pictured) are “significantly” bigger than jackets previously built at Lindo.
Bifab in Scotland is also building jackets for the 84-turbine Beatrice.
