OERA-led project awarded C$1m funding by Natural Resources Canada
Natural Resources Canada has announced $1m funding for a tidal energy project in Nova Scotia led by the Offshore Energy Research Association (OERA).
The project, which aims to address knowledge gaps and challenges associated with tidal energy in Canada, received the funding from Natural Resources Canada’s Energy Innovation Program.
The Canadian province of Nova Scotia and OERA have also contributed $125,000 to the project.
Natural Resources Canada minister Jim Carr said: “This project is a great example of how our government is looking for better and cleaner ways to bring electricity to Canadians.”
