Nordex hails backyard boom
Contracts secured for 81MW at 13 projects in Germany in 2nd quarter
Nordex has received turbine contracts totalling 81MW for 13 wind farms in Germany in the second quarter of 2017.
The German manufacturer said the projects are approved, have finalised finance and are eligible for remuneration under Germany’s renewable energies legislation.
The majority of the projects will be executed this year, Nordex said.
The contracts are mainly for latest-generation turbines with capacity of more than three MWs and rotor diameters of over 130 metres.
They also include the first wind farms to be fitted with a 3.6MW turbine, the company said.
Nordex said in the late summer it will be presenting a more efficient turbine, which is already in the sales process.
