ABB powers Morocco grid
$16m Hybrid substation will connect to Nareva's new wind farm
ABB is working with Energie Eolienne du Maroc to supply a $16m hybrid substation for a wind farm being developed by Nareva in Morocco.
The substation, which will have capacity of 225/33kV and the flexibility to be upgraded to 400kV, will be connected to the coutry's national grid, ABB said.
It is being designed to withstand the challenging weather conditions of the desert and the marine air conditions, the company added.
The substation also includes Pass, ZS2 MV Switchgear, 150MW of power transformers, instrument transformers, surge arresters, substation automation system and protection and control.
