Canadian developer Northland Power has hired Morten Melin as executive vice president of construction.

Melin, who will join the company on 1 August, was most recently vice president of engineering, procurement and construction at Dong Energy Wind Power in Europe.

Melin (pictured) is currently an advisor to Northland and British Wind Energy on the construction and implementation planning for the 252MW Deutsche Bucht offshore wind project located off the coast of Germany.

Northland chief executive John Brace said: “From his tenure at Dong, another leader in the offshore wind sector, Morten brings significant experience developing large-scale renewable power projects.

“His technical and infrastructure project management experience will enhance Northland's ability to develop and build large-scale projects in multiple international locations.”
