Siemens Gamesa is to supply turbines totalling 118MW to two wind farms being developed by Sancak Enerji in Turkey.

The company will deliver 20 G132 3.3MW machines to the 66MW Baglar project and 16 units of the same model to the 52MW Ardicli facility, both located in Konya.

Delivery is scheduled to start in the second quarter of 2018 with the wind farms slated for commissioning in 2019.

The company will also provide both projects with operation and maintenance services for five years.

The nacelles for the 36 turbines will be assembled at Siemens Gamesa’s factory in Ágreda in Spain, while the towers and blades will be made in Turkey using local suppliers.

Siemens Gamesa said it is the first order for the 3.3MW platform in Europe.

Siemens Gamesa has installed over 550MW of its turbines in Turkey since entering the market in 2010.
