Fugro maps Hollandse Nord
Geophysical survey started at site of 700MW project off the Netherlands
Fugro has started a geophysical survey of the 700MW Hollandse Kust Nord offshore wind zone off the coast of the Netherlands in preparation for tender in 2019.
The Dutch company has been contracted by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency to map the seabed and the position of existing cables and pipelines, as well as the possible presence of shipwrecks and other obstacles.
Hollandse Kust Nord is the last of the three North Sea zones to be surveyed as part of the Dutch government's Offshore Wind Energy Roadmap programme, the Netherlands Enterprise Agency said.
Fugro has conducted similar investigations for the Borssele and Hollandse Kust Zuid zones, the latter of which will be open for tender open this autumn.
