Icebreaker faces Ohio test
Authorities call for public views on 20.7MW Lake Erie wind farm
Members of the public have been invited to express their views on LEEDCo and Fred Olsen Renewables’ proposed 20.7MW Icebreaker offshore wind project in Lake Erie, Ohio.
The Ohio Power Siting Board said it will hold a public hearing on 8 November to gauge support for the venture's development application.
Last month, the board said the application is "in compliance and ready to be processed”.
The hearing will be held at Cleveland City Council Chambers and will be followed by an adjudicatory hearing on 17 November at the offices of the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio.
Icebreaker is expected to feature six MHI Vestas 3.45MW turbines, placed in fresh water about eight to 10 miles off the shore of Cleveland.
