Bladt Industries has delivered the first four jacket foundations for the 588MW Beatrice offshore wind farm off the coast of Scotland.

The Danish fabricator said the jackets sailed away from its site at Lindoe in Denmark on 22 August.

Bladt is providing a total of 30 four-legged jacket foundations for Beatrice, each with a height of approximately 70 metres and weighing 940 tonnes.

Smulders is providing a further 28 jackets for the project and BiFab the remaining 26.

The first jacket – fabricated in Newcastle – was installed by Seaway Heavy Lifting earlier this month.

Beatrice will feature 84 Siemens 7MW turbines when fully commissioned in 2019.
