SSE, Statoil confirm Dogger JV
Partners will develop three 1.2GW projects at 4.8GW offshore wind zone
SSE has confirmed the formation of a joint venture with Statoil to co-develop three 1.2GW projects at the 4.8GW Dogger Bank offshore wind zone off the UK’s east coast.
The companies said they will work collaboratively to progress the Creyke Beck A, Creyke Beck B and Teesside A projects towards financial investment decisions.
The remaining Teesside B project will be developed by Innogy.
Consortium Forewind was originally awarded consents for the Dogger Bank development in 2015.
SSE director of development Mike Seaton said: “Each project represents a significant offshore development in its own right.
“We’re looking forward to working closely with Statoil to consider all of the options available to us in order to develop these projects further.”
Forewind will no longer be involved with the Dogger Bank projects, but will oversee the decommissioning of the zone's two met masts and removal of the suction-installed mono bucket foundations later this year.
