ESB extends Vestas service run
Lifetime service deal agreed for 104 V52-850kW turbines across Ireland
Irish utility ESB has awarded Vestas four lifetime service contracts to manage turbines at a quartet of wind farms around the country.
The Danish outfit said it will cover servicing for a total of 104 V52-850kW machines under the deal at Black Banks, Carnsore, Derrybrien and Mount Eagle wind farms.
All the turbines had been managed by Vestas over the last 14 years and will continue to come under the company's output management 4000 agreement to the end of their 20-year life, Vestas added.
“Enhancing the wind parks’ long-term commercial viability and performance was a key goal of the contract renewal, which was achieved through upgraded technology that will further improve the turbines’ remote operation and diagnostics,” the Danish company said.
Vestas UK and Ireland service director Keith Wallace said the deal is “the result of a long and trusted partnership” with ESB.
