Boskalis subsidiary Dockwise has been awarded a contract by Lamprell Energy to transport 36 jacket foundations for the 714MW East Anglia 1 offshore wind farm off the east coast of the UK.

Dockwise will use two semi-submersible heavy transport vessels to carry the jackets from the construction yard in Jebel Ali in the UAE to Vlissingen in the Netherlands.

Lamprell is responsible for the delivery of 60 foundations for the project, with the additional 24 outsourced to Belfast yard Harland and Wolff.

Spanish company Navantia will supply the remaining 42 jackets for the project, which will consist of 102 7MW Siemens turbines.
