CWind delivers for Dong
New gates being fitted to TPs at Gode and Borkum Riffgrund 1 projects
Dong Energy has hired CWind to install new and retrofit existing gates on the transition pieces at the 582MW Gode Wind and 312MW Borkum Riffgrund offshore wind farms in German North Sea.
The Global Marine Group company has deployed its CWind Phantom catamaran to carry out the work, which started on 1 September, together with eight electrical engineers and mechanical technicians.
CWind said the first phase should be completed in eight weeks, with the whole project scheduled for completion in 12 months.
Gode Wind consists of 97 turbines, while Borkum Riffgrund 1 comprises 77 machines.
CWind managing director Lee Andrews said: “We have worked with Dong Energy for many years, including extensive prior work at Gode Wind, and we are pleased to continue our close business relationship.”
