RES has started construction of EDP Renewables’ 66MW Hog Creek wind farm in Ohio.

The project, which is located in Hardin County, will feature 30 Vestas V110 2.2MW turbines.

Hog Creek will create 235 jobs during peak construction and seven permanent positions when it comes online.

It is scheduled to be operational by the end of the year.

The National Renewables Cooperative Organization facilitated the project’s 20-year power purchase agreement with Southern Maryland Electric Cooperative, RES said.

Hog Creek will generate property tax payments to Hardin County of about $594,000 per year and more than $10m will be paid to local landowners through the life of the project, it added.
