Mainstream sells Knockaneden
Fund managed by BlackRock Real Assets acquires 9MW wind farm in Ireland
A fund managed by BlackRock Real Assets has acquired the 9MW Knockaneden wind farm in Ireland from Mainstream Renewable Power.
The project, which is located in Kerry, has been operational for four years and is supported by the Irish Refit 1 scheme.
Knockaneden also has a long-term power purchase agreement with an “investment grade Irish energy supplier”, BlackRock said.
It was acquired by the BlackRock Renewable Income Europe Fund.
BlackRock managing director and head of renewable power for Europe Rory O’Connor said: “We continue to see Ireland as an attractive market for wind assets, with some of the strongest onshore wind resources available in Europe.”
