Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy has renewed an operations and maintenance (O&M) contract for five years at SSE and Innogy’s 504MW Greater Gabbard offshore wind farm off the coast of Suffolk in the UK.
The contract will run until 2022 and cover scheduled servicing, troubleshooting and technical support to the 140 SWT-3.6-107 turbines.
Siemens Gamesa has provided O&M for the wind farm since it became operational in 2013.
Onshore 24/7 monitoring and diagnostics of each of the turbines will take place at the company’s control room in Newcastle-upon-Tyne in the UK.
Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy service chief executive Mark Albenze said: “This five-year extension underscores our commitment to providing customers with value-driven service plans targeted to their specific operational needs and complemented with our advanced digital services that help drive down the costs associated with wind energy.”
