VOS Stone widens Arkona role
VBMS charters Vroon’s new vessel from spring 2018 for array cable support
VBMS has chartered Vroon Offshore Services’ VOS Stone vessel to support array cabling work at the 385MW Arkona offshore wind farm in the German Baltic Sea.
The charter will start in spring 2018, Vroon said.
The deal widens VOS Stone’s role at the wind farm, with Eon having chartered the vessel last month to provide logistics support and offshore accommodation at the wind farm from the middle of next year.
The vessel (pictured) was delivered to Vroon in July from Fujian Southeast Shipbuilding in China and is currently undergoing final outfitting works in the Netherlands before deployment in the North Sea in November.
VOS Stone will be fitted with a 50-tonne active-heave-compensated crane and a motion-compensated gangway, as well as having accommodation for up to 60 passengers.
