Banks Renewables has reached the halfway mark of construction of its 12MW Moor House wind farm near Darlington in northeast England.

The third of six Senvion M100 machines each rated at 2MW has been installed at the project in County Durham.

Testing and commissioning work for what will be the ninth onshore wind farm Banks Renewables has built will then follow, with the scheme expected to be fully operational early in the new year.

Banks Group community relations manager Lewis Stokes said: “We have an excellent team of contractors on site who are moving quickly to put the Moor House turbines in place as safely and efficiently as possible, and the progress that's being made is very impressive.

"We're on target to have construction work finished within the next few weeks, and expect to be generating clean, green electricity early in 2018.”
